The Unspoken
The deeper tension in “Fading Moonlight” is that the outer world continues even when an inner world has changed completely. The moon still shines, the breeze still passes, the sun still burns—yet the narrator experiences those same things through absence, as if nature remembers what everyone else has stopped noticing. The later image of an earth that was “once a paradise” widens the song beyond one relationship and toward mortality itself. Its final urge to keep living does not cancel grief; it suggests that survival can carry memory without denying loss.
Fading Moonlight - Lyrics
Hmmm…mmm…mmm…
Aaaa…aaa…aaa…
Aaaa…aaa…aaa…
Aaa…aa…aaa…aaa….
The moon is shining bright,
Its colors slowly fading,
Yet no one seems to notice,
Only these eyes of mine,
Can still see you.
The breeze is gently passing,
The grove is smiling softly,
Yet no one seems to feel it,
Only these hands of mine,
Can still touch you.
The wind keeps blowing,
The sun keeps burning, burning,
But there’s no change in this at all,
Aaaaaa… the sky and the earth,
Urge us to keep on living,
And that blessing never ends,
Forever in the sky.
The moon is shining bright,
Its colors slowly fading,
Yet no one seems to notice,
Only these eyes of mine,
Can still see you.
There goes the fading cloud,
The rain is nowhere to be seen,
And here comes the song of the cuckoo,
But no one hears its sorrowful tune.
This earth, once a paradise,
Now crumbles like dry petals,
This life, a once-given gift,
But now, where does the spirit go?
The moon is shining bright,
Its colors slowly fading,
Yet no one seems to notice,
Only these eyes of mine,
Can still see you.
The breeze is gently passing,
The grove is smiling softly,
Yet no one seems to feel it,
Only these hands of mine,
Can still touch you.
The wind keeps blowing,
The sun keeps burning, burning,
But there’s no change in this at all,
Aaaaaa… the sky and the earth,
Urge us to keep on living,
And that blessing never ends,
Forever in the sky.
The moon is shining bright,
Its colors slowly fading,
Yet no one seems to notice,
Only these eyes of mine,
Can still see you.
